About this gear

Reaching pure performance without any cambers – the Matrix combines a locked-in racing feeling with ease of use. The race-oriented outline with a small sail head was updated with slightly increased luff curve, which adds tension to the sail to boost the performance even more. Small modifications in the shaping of the seams in the middle of the sail helped to refine the profile, leading to a light feeling even when you’re overpowered. The relatively wide sail foot and the cross batten further enhance the power and performance of the Gaastra Matrix, while it never loses its user-friendly and controllable character.

Where this gear come from?

The presented sail was used for one season in the windsurfing rental center of Vasco Renna on the Lake Garda. No exposure either to salt water or to harmful UV rays (such as in Egypt) and professional attitude to equipment in Italian bases make it in great condition.

Advantages

• Sail had no contact with salt water
• Stored in a roofed base, hidden from the sun

Disadvantages

• Panel next to base protector was slightly detached and was repaired using glue
• Abrasion on top battens sleeve
• Dent in monofilm next to X-ply panel
• Small hole in mast sleeve next to 4th batten
• Numerous but slight folds and scratches on monofilm and X-ply from normal use
• Monofilm and edge tape on the top are slightly folded
• Slight ripping of the tape in top area
