Duotone Warp_Fin is ready to race right out of the bag. Unlike most other slalom racing sails Warp does not need any time-consuming fine tuning. Just take your sail out of the bag, rig it according to the visual markers, and you can be assured to have the performance!
Warp_Fin is more balanced, less exhausting, and even more controllable.
The more pronounced High Aspect Ratio design, especially in the larger sizes, with a shortened boom length and a forward-shifted profile, requires less power, is lighter in the hands and offers more control at the upper wind limit. In addition, stiffer tube battens stabilize the shape well into the overpowered range and you can easily convert even monster gusts into extra speed.
All Warp_Fin sizes have an even more explosive acceleration now and offer an even bigger wind range.
On the other hand, acceleration was also improved to make up ground after the start and jibes. Based on the successful no compromise design concept, the draft position was moved a bit further up, to lift the board which leads to improved planing and explosive acceleration thanks to reduced resistance. It also made it possible that the propulsion does not start abruptly and must be “muscled down” but builds up much more gradually and softly than with other power slalom sails! This relieves the pilot, giving them extra power reserves for the entire course and full concentration on the race. There are other positive side effects of the modified profile geometry with a higher draft position: the trim of the board improves, making it easier to fly on the rail and in combination with the unrivalled soft camber rotation the sail jibes even more effortlessly and faster.
Product highlights
No compromise design
Guarantees an ideal mix of maximum power and forward pull without loosing stability / wind-range or becoming super physical
Hyper Cam 2.0
Completely new and technically superior: the camber revolution with adjustable length - for optimised rotation and increased performance
Sizespecific design
Thanks to three different, size-dependent concepts each sail size is individually matched to the wind strength
7-batten design
Makes the Warp one of the lightest Slalom sails on the market
On the course for the course
Developed and tested in real racing conditions on the course against all competitor sails convinced us that the WARP can beat anything out there
X-Ply Batten pocket
Eliminates stretch and doesn´t absorb any water (dry weight = wet weight)
Features
3D Top Cap
Optimised pull. On regular top caps and pin systems the webbing is connected in a “one-dimensional” way with the sail body (either side to side or front to back), which transfers the downhaul tension only in certain points. 3D TOP CAP allows a “three-dimensional” and very widespread transition of the downhaul forces into the sail body. This eliminates top fluttering and ensures a progressive loose leech extending the wind range. The integrated abrasion ribs eliminate the need for heavy, bulky reinforcements at the end of the luff sleeve
Polyester webbing only
Eliminating stretch and loss of tension. If it’s good enough for safety harnesses, it’s good enough for windsurfers! Duotone is the only manufacturer to use only polyester webbing for the (vario) top and the tack roller. This advantage of this compared to conventional polypropylene is the negligible amount of stretch. As a result even brand new sails will retain full luff tension and will not need subsequent trimming
TT TOP
Improved sail control at higher winds. Designer Kai Hopf originally designed the TT TOP for the WARP. The reduced, concave shape improves tension conditions for a more effective, three-dimensional top twist. This means the top twists not only horizontally, but also vertically under strong winds. By completely neutralising gusts of wind, the rig is kept steady in the rider’s hands, and thus works in a much larger range of winds
Progressive cutaway clew
Progressive cutaway clew, which has an extremely positive influence on the sail’s agility and handling, and allows for a shorter, more rigid boom
Twin Trim Clew
Wider range of use, custom tuning options. The secret is the two horizontally placed clew eyelets. The outer eyelet position provides more power and a more direct feeling, while the inner position gives more control and a gentler riding feel
Mini Batten
These prevent unwanted leech flutter. Short and highly effective mini-battens which provide support for the areas between the battens and prevent undesirable flutter
Double Seam Technology
Double the durability with half as much stretch. Duotone manufactures products of unmatched quality which gives their sails a significantly longer lifetime. A key feature which helps to achieve this is the triple-stitch zig-zag seams. Unlike other products with their single-seam design, these are double-seam. They cover all exposed crash areas, which increases tear resistance and reduces bending-elongation by up to 50%, boosting profile stability and performance
Individual boom length indication
Correct boom length without the need for trial and error. Because the boom is attached to the mast at different heights depending on body size, and because this creates a different angle to the mast, the boom length will vary. Specific recommendations for the correct length are printed directly on the luff sleeve at the boom level
Triple Tack Roller 3.0
Find the perfect trim with minimal effort. The integrated, nickel-plated brass triple roller minimises the downhaul forces tremendously
